3 Ways to Find Inner Peace in Uncertain Times….Eckhart Tolle says take care of the present, and the future will take care of itself. But how do you stay present when your mind is pulling you into fears about future scenarios that don’t exist? Here are 3 ways that we’ve found can really help keep you centered in yourself, here and now.

1.	Box breathing - sit comfortably and close your eyes. Place one hand on your belly and one over your heart. Breathe in through your nose for a slow count of 4, then hold for a count of 4, release for a count of 4, and then hold for a count of 4. Repeat 5 times or as many times as you like to feel more peaceful and grounded.

2.	Return to your senses. Writer Elizabeth Gilbert shared a helpful exercise this week to bring you into the now. It’s called 5-4-3-2-1. Stop what you’re doing, and take note of five things that you can see, four things that you can hear, three things that you can feel, two things that you can smell, and one thing that you can taste. This can take you out of future-fearing and catastrophizing, settle the nervous system, and bring you back into the only reality that is confirmable: the one that is happening right now.

3.	Do something simple, with love. Draw a picture, make a meal, write a poem, sing, play guitar, phone a friend, play a favorite song and dance in your kitchen. There are so many simple ways to find joy. Maybe part of this experience is asking us to reconnect with them. And each other, even as we maintain our physical distance.

Our little MAI family is here for you, so please let us know how you’re doing! Reach out to us and to one another. We are all in this together, we belong to each other, and we are beyond grateful for you, now and always.🙏🙏🙏
