First Things First

How you do anything is how you do everything, and so, for the most part, I have taken to going to God prior to making decisions. I’ve learned as I sincerely “seek first God” that, in fact, all else really is given. But this is not something you should take my word for. This is something you should prove for yourself.

Seeking first God is a universal invitation that we find in many theologies. As we complete our 6th round of MiraclesLIVE365.com, we are guided to repeat the last lesson for several days in order to drum into our brains this concept: Give it to God, and all else will be given.

Lesson 631-635
This holy instant would I give to You.
Be You in charge. For I would follow You,
Certain that Your direction gives me peace.
And if I need a word to help me, He will give it to me. If I need a thought, that will He also give. And if I need but stillness and a tranquil, open mind, these are the gifts I will receive of Him. He is in charge by my request. And He will hear and answer me, because He speaks for God my Father and His holy Son.

The lesson invites us to hand over this holy moment to God and then listen for instructions on how to move forward. It requires that we slow down a bit, but honestly, why wouldn’t ya? If you had a friend who was invested in your highest good and knew the shortcut for everything… wouldn’t you fly things by them first?

When I lean back and let God lead the way, I always arrive at the right place at the right time and for the highest good of all. This does not mean that I don’t make plans… I just make them with God.

Rev. Beckwith from Agape gave us a great road map to use to insure that we’re always traveling with Spirit. I practice this Visioning process before I do anything. I share this for the leaders of our community. If you are beginning to craft a mission statement for your small group, use this process. Having a vision and a mission for your small group, class or business will help others to know who you are, what you’re up to, and if they might be in alignment with your desired passion.
